Driver cited after Schuylkill crash

A driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:42 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, along Schwartz Road, in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Renee E. Kintzer, 22, of Port Carbon, was driving a 1995 Subaru Impreza eastbound and negotiating a crest.

After going over the crest in the road the car went onto the south berm where the rear of the car began to slide in a clockwise direction.

Kintzer over-corrected her steering, troopers said, and the car crossed the center line and into the westbound lane and off the north berm where it impacted with a utility pole with the front end.

Kintzer was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, while her passenger, Randall J. Boud Jr., 25, of Port Carbon, was not injured. Kintzer was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
