Dance group raises funds for Carbon County Animal Shelter

Carbon County Animal Shelter was the

beneficiary of proceeds from an open social and charity dance held recently at Lehighton Boys & Girls Band Hall. On the evening of the event a check for $602 was presented to Tom Connors, far right, shelter manager, and Tina Dittman, second from right, a shelter employee, by Ron Hlavaty, second from left, a member of the Home Town Dance Group. With them is Sara Martz, far left, a 10th-grade student at Lehighton Area High School, who helped promote the dance as part of her senior project. Entertainment for the dance was provided by musician Mike Peters.
