Talking Heads-Hall, Oates tribute concert at opera house in JT

Published April 23. 2015 04:00PM

Start Making Sense will perform Friday at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

If you're looking for the perfect blend of rock, funk, dance and New Wave, this concert might be just what you're looking for.

Prepare yourself for a rockin', funkin', dance celebration of the New Wave art-punk and Blue-eyed soul you loved from the '80s.

The musicians in this seven-piece band re-create the music and the magic of the Talking Heads' entire career, and they do it flawlessly. Together they bring the Heads' blockbuster live show to the stage once again, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne.

Start Making Sense also morphs into the ultimate Hall and Oates tribute band, and kicks off their dual tribute concert with this great music.

It includes early material and all the hits. Hall and Oates are the number one selling duo of all time, and there is no one better than Start Making Sense to bring their music back to the masses.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 570-325-0249 or by visiting www.mcohjt.com.

Tickets are also available at SoundCheck Records in downtown Jim Thorpe, 570-325-4009, and at the venue the day of show.

The Mauch Chunk Opera House is located at 14 W. Broadway.

Parking is available at the Carbon County lot behind the train station and is free after 5 p.m.
