Photographic exhibit to open at Moravian
"As the Crow Flies," a photographic exhibit by Kristine Kotsch, will open Aug. 24 at Moravian College, Monacacy and Laurel streets, Bethlehem, in the H. Paty Eiffe Gallery.
The exhibit runs through Sept. 20. An artist reception and talk will take place at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 8.
Kotsch works in a variety of photographic mediums, including film and darkroom, historic processes, and a wide array of digital media and printing methods.
This exhibition features an ongoing series titled "As the Crow Flies," which refers to moving from one point to another without obstacles.
Presenting the crow as a metaphor for our journey, the images explore these obstacles and how we move throughout our lives, trying to fit in, finding our way, and discovering our own definitions of home.
Kotsch studied graphic design and photography at Moravian, where she is currently an adjunct professor of art. She teaches photography and graphic design courses.
She is also the director of exhibitions and collections at The Baum School of Art in Allentown.
