Celebrate a senior today

Know a senior citizen? Of course you do!

Today is National Senior Citizens Day.

Seniors are some of our favorite people, and thanks to President Ronald Reagan, today is the day we should make a special effort to recognize all that they contribute to our lives, homes, family and society.

Make sure to spend some time with a senior today and let him or her know just how much you appreciate them.

"We owe older citizens our thanks and a heartfelt salute," said Reagan in his Aug. 19, 1988, proclamation. "We can best demonstrate our gratitude and esteem by making sure that our communities are good places in which to mature and grow older."
