Suzy Bogguss performs at opera house Friday

Grammy winner Suzy Bogguss will headline the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe Friday, featuring music from her new album, "Lucky," a collection of songs all written by country's finest storyteller, Merle Haggard.

Backed by her critically acclaimed trio, Bogguss will showcase her interpretations of Haggard classics such as "Silver Wings," "The Bottle Let Me Down," and "Today I Started Loving You Again," in addition to her own country hits.

Her relationship with Haggard began on her debut album, "Somewhere Between," released on Capitol Records in 1989.

The title track, written by Haggard, introduced her to country radio and quickly launched a string of top 10 singles, including "Outbound Plane," "Drive South," "Letting Go," and "Aces," which cemented her as one of the key artists to define the golden days of '90s country.

Bogguss' career is one that has spanned decades of success and diversity with no signs of slowing down.

Platinum and Gold albums, a Grammy for her work on "Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster," as well as multiple CMA, ACM, CMT and ASCAP awards are just a few of the accomplishments she's garnered over her illustrious career.

The Mauch Chunk Opera House is located at 14 W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe.
