Stroke Support Group

Published May 19. 2015 04:00PM

The Stroke Support Group at Blue Mountain Health System will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. May 27, in the second floor Acute Rehab Unit Dining Room at the Gnaden Huetten campus, 211 N. 12th St. in Lehighton.

The topic will be atrial fibrillation, which is the most common heart arrhythmia and a major risk factor for stroke.

Daniel Q. Yeager, MD, Acute Rehab Physiatrist, will answer questions about AFib and its connection to strokes.

Having a stroke is a life-altering experience. Support groups are a great way to meet other stroke survivors or caregivers who understand what you are going through. Survivors and caregivers are invited. The group meets on the last Wednesday of each month. Topics vary each month.

Refreshments will be provided. Please advise of special dietary needs upon registration. To register, call Carla Conarty at 610-377-7209.
