Rush trio suspected of stealing

Rush Township Police arrested two members of a trio suspected of stealing from the Mazaika Coal Company, Rush Township. The thefts allegedly occurred on July 11 and 12.

Chastity Yanetti, 27, of Hazleton, and Brian Viechec, 31, of Freeland, were taken into custody Thursday at Hazleton Scrap and Recycling, Hazle Township, as the duo attempted to sell the stolen property. Pennsylvania State Police from the Hazleton Barracks and McAdoo Police assisted in the arrest.

Yanetti and Viechec were arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua, on felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor charge of trespass. Bail was set at $10,000. Both suspects were incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, in lieu of bail.

A third suspect in the theft, Stephen F. Davis, 37, of McAdoo is being actively sought by police on felony warrants for the same charges. Anyone who sees Davis, or has information about his current whereabouts, is asked to contact police at (570) 668-6100.
