A Schuylkill County man was jailed in Carbon County following an incident in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police said about 5:37 a.m. on July 29 officers were dispatched to the area of West Broadway for a suspicious male attempting to enter several homes. Upon arrival officers could not locate the male.

At 10:22 a.m. officers were called to the train station for a report of a male matching the description of the one who was sought earlier in the West Broadway incident.

The male was located and identified as Piotr Mateusz Ciaston, 28, of 807 Mulberry St., Trenton. Ciaston was found to be highly intoxicated and admitted to being the person attempting to enter the homes along West Broadway.

A check revealed that Ciaston's passport had expired in 2005.

He was placed under arrest and charged with loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness. He was arraigned before duty District Judge Bruce Appleton, of Palmerton, via teleconference, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning.

Contact was made by U.S. immigration officials who said a detainer would be filed against Ciaston with the county prison.
