Tamaqua creek project site dry despite rain

  • Empty

Rain fell Wednesday but the creek bed at the subterranean Tamaqua Wabash Creek Bridge construction site remained dry thanks to large pumps diverting water near the intersection of West Broad and Berwick streets. Just a few days ago, the same site was filling quickly with water, prompting construction crews to take remedial action. Now, the creek water is temporarily being pumped to street level and carried across Broad Street in large, flexible hoses where it’s returned to the 1852 stone arch tunnel at the front of La Dolce Casa Restaurant.
