Tamaqua paints the town blue

  • Empty

The John E. Morgan Memorial Fountain at Tamaqua Depot Square Park is awash in blue spotlights during Tuesday’s rainstorm. The fountain’s color was changed early evening by community organizer Justin Startzel and lighting technicians Frank Fabrizio and Kyle Whitley in tribute to the undefeated Tamaqua Area High School Blue Raiders football team. Other activities planned include a Homecoming Bonfire on Thursday at the high school at 8 p.m. and a mayoral proclamation declaring Friday Tamaqua Blue Raider Day. The team will take on North Schuylkill High School at home on Friday in the battle of unbeatens. DONALD R. SERFASS/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
