Penn's Peak has announced that Jefferson Starship, along with Jazz Is Dead and Quicksilver will be "Celebrating 50 Years of Jefferson Airplane" at 8 p.m. Nov. 7.

Jefferson Starship, created by Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner, and David Freiberg, also a former Jefferson Airplane member and co-founder of the legendary Quicksilver Messenger Service, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2014.

The band is descended from Jefferson Airplane, who performed at Monterey and Woodstock, and with the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin, and whose music helped define a generation focused on civil rights, environmental awareness and anti-war activism.

Jefferson Starship is fronted by acclaimed singer Cathy Richardson, star of the play "Love, Janis." Longtime members Donny Baldwin (drums), Chris Smith (keyboard/bass) and guitarist Jude Gold (formerly with JGB) round out the lineup. Jefferson Starship continues to perform its repertoire of hits spanning all eras of their existence, including "Jane," "Somebody To Love," "Miracles," "White Rabbit," "Volunteers," "Find Your Way Back" and more.

Jazz Is Dead, created by Michael Gaiman, is reforming after a 10-year hiatus to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Grateful Dead.

The band is credited for beckoning the start of the "jam band" phenomenon in 1998. Alphonso Johnson, bassist for Furthur, Bobby & The Midnights and Weather Report; and, Jeff Pevar, guitarist for Phil Lesh, Crosby-Nash, Bette Midler; and Rod Morgenstein, who recorded two of their three releases, lead the group. Rock Hall of Fame inductee, original Grateful Dead pianist, Tom Constanten, and Chris Smith (Jefferson Starship, The Supremes) will join them.

Quicksilver Messenger Service gained wide popularity in the San Francisco Bay Area and through its recordings with psychedelic rock enthusiasts around the globe. Several of their albums ranked in the Top 30 of the Billboard Pop charts. Though not as commercially successful as contemporaries Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead, Quicksilver was integral to the beginnings of their genre.

With their jazz and classical influences and a strong folk background, the band attempted to create an individual, innovative sound.

Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Penn's Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar. For more information on Penn's Peak, go to www.pennspeak.com or call 866-605-7325.
