Harvest the fun at Schuylkill County Fair
The 32nd annual Schuylkill County Fair will be held July 27 through Aug. 1 at the Schuylkill County Fairgrounds, 2270 Fair Road in Schuylkill Haven.
The fair opens at 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; and 11 a.m. Tuesday and Saturday. The theme this year is "Harvest the Fun."
Admission is $5. Children 12 and under are free. Admission includes entertainment, games, contests, exhibits, competitions, programs, hands on activities and parking. Ride bands are available for $15 to ride all day Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tuesday and Saturday ride bands will be $20 for all day, and $10 for a 1 to 5 p.m. ride special.
Private attractions, such as the petting zoo, are not included in with admission price.
The crowning of the fair queen will also be on M&T stage just before Schuylkill ShowStoppers performance on opening day.
In addition to entertainment and special events, there will be exhibits and food contests. Monetary awards will be given for first, second and third prize. The pre-registration cutoff is July 15 for those interested in registering items for general exhibits. These items include fruits, vegetables, flowers and grains.
This same deadline applies to items such as cakes, pickles, wine, honey, quilts, photos and woodworking.
These items may be preregistered on the Schuylkill County Fair general entry form, which may be found in the premium book or online at www.schuylkillfair.com.
