Lehigh man admits smoking pot while fishing

A Lehigh County man has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mahoning Township Police Chief Audie Mertz said that at 6:30 p.m. March 15, Glen Jacoby of Bethlehem was stopped at a DUI checkpoint on Mill Road.

An odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the car. Jacoby admitted smoking marijuana while ice fishing at the lake.

Jacoby surrendered a pipe, and small amount of marijuana. A blood test showed the presence of Delta-9 THC.

As a result, Jacoby has been charged with two counts of DUI, a misdemeanor; possession of a small amount of marijuana, a misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 1.
