And the most romantic proposal is:
"In order for us to move forward I think it's important that we take a step back and look at what got us here."
This was a line from my first letter and the beginning of my scavenger hunt! When I woke up on July 3, 2013 I thought we were leaving to go to the beach, but Tony had other plans. He had planned an all-day scavenger hunt across the state of Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to State College back to Panther Valley
When I came downstairs he was gone along with our entire luggage I had packed the night before, and I was left with a rose and a letter. The letter explained that I will be going back to all of the places that were important to us. At each location there was a rose and a letter leading me to my next clue.
I hurried to get dressed and went to the car where my next clue was waiting. When I turned on the car, "Marry Me" by Train was playing. This was probably one of my favorite moments of the day. Turns out he had made me a play list on his iPod of every song that had any meaning to us so I would have something to listen to for my long day.
Starting from our house, I went to our first apartment in Pittsburgh, then drove two hours to an apartment complex at PSU (where we met), then the site of our first kiss, then our first date, and after that the place we spent a lot of time getting to know each other. Then it was back in the car for two more hours to our hometown.
I went to one of our favorite summer spots (Rita's), then to Mauch Chunk where he first said "I love you," then to Lake Hauto where we spent that first summer getting to know each other. This is where my final clue was! There was one red rose at the end of the dock and a picture of him and I at the top of the Glen along with a note saying "There is a change of clothes in the trunk. I'll see you at the top."
I changed my outfit and hiked to the top of the waterfall where he was waiting with the camera set up to record the moment.
The edge of the waterfall is where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! After I said yes, we enjoyed the moment with champagne and the amazing view.
