‘Peter Pan Jr.’ hits the stage in Tamaqua
Check out “Peter Pan Jr.” at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center this weekend.
A group of 23 performers between the ages of 5 and 15 will be on stage for a total of three shows on Friday and Saturday at The Stitch this weekend.
“Half of them have performed before and half haven’t, so it’s challenging,” said director Olivia Stettler. “We started practicing in August.”
Stettler, a senior at Marian Catholic High School, is directing for the first time. She has performed in about 45 productions dating back to third grade.
“I always wanted to and I thought it would be a good time since I’m applying to college and I could put it on my resume,” Stettler said. “Taking charge has been one of the hardest parts. I definitely enjoy being in them more, but I’d definitely do it again.”
Friday’s show will be at 7 p.m., while Saturday offers to showings at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for students or seniors and $15 for adults.
“They’re all so sweet and I love meeting all of these new kids,” Stettler said. “They’re so nice and it’s been fun.”
