Two injured in Carbon crash

The two drivers involved in a collision about 1:08 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, along Lower Smith Gap Road, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, were injured.

State police at Lehighton said Tom E. Costenbader, 43, of Palmerton, operating a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria, was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway when his car was struck in the rear by a 2007 Hyundai Sonata driven by Barbara B. Huber, 61, of Kunkletown.

Troopers said the two drivers were taken to the Palmerton hospital by Palmerton ambulance for treatment of injuries. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Huber for following too closely.
