‘SAD, winter blahs and depression’

Published February 13. 2018 11:44AM

New Seasons will offer a community education program: SAD, Winter Blahs and Depression, at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20 in the community room at the Gnaden Huetten campus, 211 N. 12th St., Lehighton.

Holidays can be joyful, however, when the music stops, the family and friends go home, and it’s time to put those festive decorations away, depression can set in.

For some people, signs of depression can begin as early as fall, but in many cases doctors see it in the post-holiday season. Seasonal affective disorder is a kind of depression that tends to occur (and recur) as the hours of daylight grow shorter during the fall and winter months.

Join the team from Behavioral Health and learn how you can tell if the feelings you are experiencing are symptoms of SAD, the “winter blahs,” or signs of a more serious depression disorder.

Class size is limited and registration is required at 610-377-7070.
