1 dead in Walker plane crash

Pennsylvania State Police, Frackville Barracks, confirmed late Friday that PSP investigators were on the scene of a light aircraft crash reportedly in a wooded area of Walker Township occuring about 4 p.m.

Early reports indicate one fatality.

A staging area has been set up along Valley Road about 5 miles southwest of Tamaqua. More information as it becomes available.

I did not see a TN update on this story; but did see a TV news story on it.
I am confused. The craft is being called a glider, yet "witnesses" spoke about hearing the plane's engine sputter. Gliders don't have engines. So what was it, a glider or
an engine/propeller driven craft?
