11-year-old brings marijuana to school

State police at the Lehighton barracks were summoned to the Pleasant Valley Intermediate School in Polk Township at 3:56 p.m. Tuesday, after it was discovered that an 11-year-old boy from Kunkletown brought marijuana to school.

Police said they were told the boy had a small bag of marijuana in his pocket and was showing it to several students.

Police said the boy was interviewed in the presence of his parents and it was discovered he found the marijuana at home and brought it to school.

Police said charges against the boy are pending authorization from the county’s juvenile probation office.
