Ellen Harding Casey, wife of Pennsylvania Governor Robert Casey, had an opportunity to combine two of the great loves of life at the Tamaqua Elementary School - literacy and art. Mrs. Casey is the forefront of the campaign against adult literacy. She presented awards to winners of a psoter contest sponsored by the Tamaqua Area School District, Business Industry, Education Partnership Committee. She also encouraged the students to read.
