Schuylkill cabin fire ruled arson

A fire that destroyed a cabin in the western part of Schuylkill County has been ruled an arson. State police at Frackville noted it is one of several arson fires that have occurred in that part of the county this year.

Troopers said a cabin at 160 Dell Road, in Hegins Township, was set on fire sometime between Nov. 25 and 28. Damages were estimated at $50,000. The cabin is owned by Weavers Sawmill, of Liverpool, Perry County.

Troopers also noted that several brush fires and four structure fires of incendiary origin have occurred in an around Hegins throughout this year.
