Write-in vote ties decided on the 'roll of the dice'

The Schuylkill County Commissioners sat as the election board Wednesday to oversee the roll of the dice to break ties for various offices on write-in votes in the General Election held on Nov. 3. Election Director Frannie Brennan provided the cup carrying the pills and the candidates rolled the dice. The drawing took place in the commissioners board room in the courthouse.

The results were as follows:

Nathan Johns won over Stephen Tertel for Judge of Election, South Precinct, Tamaqua.

Joe Rolenaitis was the winner over David Rice, John Sadusky, Scott Jones and Thomas Vrabel Jr. for Middleport council.

Anthony Gladski was the winner over Leonard Sweet and John Jake Kendricks for Judge of Election, Heights East District, West Mahanoy Township; John Holobetz was the winner over Hunter B. Copeland, Kay Hranichny and Stephen Carpenito for Judge of Election for Mellots District, North Manheim Township; Frank Raczka was the winner over Anne Diehl and Kathy Thomas for Judge of Election and Anne Diehl over Vince LaSelve for Inspector of Election for Palo Alto, Second Precinct.

Michelle Yoder was the winner over Joanne Donetti, Kelly Henry Michelle, Fisher Fisher and Serena Winter for Tax Collector in Port Clinton; Thomas Goblick was the winner over Mary M. Cheripka, Anya Litwak and Carl Miller for the two year auditor term in Saint Clair; John Stock was the winner over Michael Kely for the six year term of auditor and Harry Lord the winner over Charles Fix, Michael Kelly and Sunny Stock for the two year term as auditor in South Manheim Township.

Robert Heckman was the winner over Thomas Kurtek for Inspector of Election for Pottsville, Fifth Ward, Second Precinct; Ray Moncavage was the winner over Jeff Hinkel for Supervisor in Barry Township; Rosalie M. Brennan was the winner over Gladys Kefer and Timothy Sohosky for Judge of Election for West District, Branch Township.
