State police at Lehighton reported on several arrests pending for driving under the influence (DUI) in recent days.

A one vehicle crash that occurred about 2:51 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, along Meixell Valley Road near High Point Drive, in Ross Township, Monroe County, has a DUI charge pending against the driver. Troopers said Thomas Stephen Coppinger, 19, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2004 Volkswagen eastbound at a high rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, the car traveled across the westbound lane and onto the berm and a grassy area. The car then rolled over once before coming to rest facing north on its roof.

Coppinger and his passenger, Ryan Gardner, 20, of Hawley, sustained minor injuries. Damages were major to the roof and front end of the car. Troopers indicated Coppinger is facing a DUI charge.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, about 10:31 p.m. April Steinhauser, 37, of Saylorsburg, was stopped along Mt. Eaton Road at SR115, in Ross Township, for a traffic violation. She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest. The DUI charge is pending blood test results, troopers said.

Also on Saturday, about 9:06 p.m., Randy James Borger, 42, of Kunkletown, was stopped for a traffic violation along Pohopoco Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. He was found to be under the influence and transported to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test. Charges will be filed, troopers said.
