Red Cross announces December blood collection dates in Carbon

The American Red Cross will conduct blood collections on the following dates in Carbon County.

Thursday, Dec. 10, from 1 to 6 p.m. Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, refreshments sponsor is East Penn Bank.

Monday, Dec. 21, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Zion United Church of Christ, 225 Iron and Second streets, Lehighton;

Monday, Dec. 28, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Split Rock Resort, Lake Drive, Lake Harmony.

Every presenting donor in December will automatically be entered to win one of four incentives, 50 inch Bravia LCD HDTV, Apple iPod Shuffle, Garmin GPS and a digital camera.

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and in good health. In Pennsylvania, 16 year olds may donate provided they bring a signed parental consent form to the blood drive. Parental consent forms can be obtained from local high schools before the blood drives or directly from nursing supervisors at Red Cross drives.
