A cookie cutter decorated Christmas tree really cuts it
Approximately twenty-five Auxiliary and Concourse members recently gathered to hang wreaths and decorate ten Christmas trees throughout the hospital. Each tree is decorated with a special theme in mind. The volunteers also decorated trees at the Franklin Community Center and the Adult Day Care located at 217 Franklin Ave.
One tree is a new addition to the hospital cafeteria this year. White lights, red snowflakes, pine cones and a large variety of silver cookie cutters bring plenty of cheer to employees and visitors alike.
The Palmerton Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1912. Along with decorating the hospital for Christmas the volunteers help with mail deliver, clerical tasks, working with clients at the Adult Day Center, staffs the "Owls Nest" and the "Nearly New "shops, work as nursing volunteers and provide assistance when special needs arise in the Palmerton Campus.
One could say, they're Santa's helpers all year round.
