Carbon and Monroe counties highway and bridge maintenance units of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Matthew F. Mazza, district engineer of PennDOT, said this savings in administrative costs and reduced equipment needs will be converted to funding additional roadway maintenance in both counties. The consolidation was one of seven statewide announced by PennDOT. The consolidation will be headquartered in Stroudsburg.
