Hayden named to All-Conference team
Muhlenberg College's Sam Hayden was recently named to the men's soccer All-Centennial Conference first team and the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District II second team.
Hayden, a graduate of Northwestern and the TIMES NEWS boys soccer player of the year in 2005, was a team captain and started all 17 games at center back. He helped the Mules to a conference-low 0.43 goals-against average in Centennial Conference play. Hayden, who has a double major in economics and Spanish, also tallied one goal and one assist on the season. He ended his career having started all 53 of Muhlenberg's games over the last three seasons, leading it to 27 shutouts over that span.
