Lansford Fire Department answered 9 calls in November

Nine fire calls were answered by the American Fire Co. No. 1, Lansford, during November.

Of them, two were carbon monoxide alarms and two were automatic fire alarms. There was one call each for dwelling/structure fires, EMS assist, helicopter landing, stand-by, and oil burner malfunction.

Of the nine calls, eight were in Lansford and one was in Summit Hill

For the year to date, the fire company responded to 141 calls including 85 in Lansford, 33 in Summit Hill, 11 in Coaldale, four in Nesquehoning, and eight in Tamaqua.

The fire company had one fundraising event in November, with 12 members participating.

There were three training sessions involving 16 members.

One community service program occurred, with 16 members taking part.
