A Northumberland County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a 2007 Subaru sedan was observed along the edge of the southbound lane of travel. Troopers approached the car and observed a person slumped over the steering wheel and unresponsive.

The operator then woke up and said she had just pulled over and that there was no problem. She was identified as Cindy Jean Kodack, 51, of Ranshaw. She was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, where she submitted to a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
