Theft of boat probed in Carbon

State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of a boat from a Carbon County residence. Troopers are also probing a reported criminal trespass incident.

Troopers said Susan Karley, 44, of 475 Lower Main St., Parryville, reported a 12-foot aluminum fishing boat, green in color, was removed from her property sometime between 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, and 9:45 a.m. on Thursday.

The trespass occurred at the property of Shauna Lee Andrews, 45, of 1580 Strohls Valley Road, Lehighton, Towamensing Township. Unknown persons entered the victim's property through a secured steel gate. They then traveled south in an unknown manner and unsecured a rope which was holding two pieces of plywood in place as a temporary gate to a horse stable. They then fled the scene. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, and 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
