File for divorce
Annalee Galvin, 316 E. Market St., Mahanoy City, filed suit for divorce from Marlin T. Galvin, 882 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville. They were married Feb. 4, 1989.
William J. Small filed an action in divorce against Jule Greco Small, both of 1029 Valley of the Lakes Subdivisioin, East Union Township. They were married May 30, 2003.
Divorces granted
Shelly Zellner, 503 Blue Mountain Drive, New Ringgold, was granted a divorce from David Zellner, 1520 Penn St., Andreas, West Penn Township. They were married Aug. 15, 1992.
Dianne Purcell, Minersville, was granted a divorce from Francis Purcell, Branchdale, Branch Township. They were married Aug. 4, 2000.
Kevin L. High wa granted a divorce from Dana L. High, both of Hegins. They were married June 14, 1997.
Danielle M. Provaznik, 12 Orchard Road, Barnesville, was granted a divorce from Joseph M. Provaznik III, 1333 Coates Bluff Drive, Shreveport, La.
Sentenced
Judge Jacqueline Russell, accepted guilty pleas and sentenced the following:
Andrew Dustin Rumberger, 19, Schuylkill Haven, on charges of criminal solicitation to commit simple assault, corruption of minors, access device fraud and receiving stolen property, was placed on strict probation for 23 months, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, $100 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, perform 40 hours of community service and pay costs of prosecution.
Keith M. Harris, 48, Pottsville, on a charge of driving while his operating privileges were suspended was placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for 60 days with electronic monitoring, pay a $12 per day fee for the service, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee plus a $500 fine and court costs.
Koc Sim Suh, 24, Scranton, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia when stopped on the Gordon Nagle Trail last April 27 by Pottsville police, was placed on strict probation for 12 months, pay a $50 monthy supervision fee, $50 to CJEA fund, $100 to SAE fund and perform 20 hours of community service.
Judge D. Michael Stine imposed a sentence as follows:
August John Rouse Jr., 55, of 40 Bridge St., McAdoo, on a driving under the influence (DUI) charge was placed in the IPP for six months with 25 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee, pay a $50 monthly supervision fee, $300 to the SAE fund, $100 to the Catastrophe fund, complete the alcohol highway safety school and pay a fine of $300 and costs of prosecution. Rouse was cited by Officer Patrick Loftus, Kline Township police, last March on Blaine Street.
Judge Charles M. Miller sentenced Phillip Holzer, 29, Schuylkill Haven, to serve 90 days to five years in the county prison after he pleaded guilty to DUI. His sentence begins Friday, Dec. 11, at 9:30 a.m. He also was ordered to pay a fine of $1,500 and court costs, $300 to the SAE fund, $50 to the EJEA fund, $100 to the Catastrophe fund, and $60 to the Schuylkill Medical Center. He must complete alcohol highway safety school and undergo intensive outpatient counseling. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he received a 12 months probation sentence which runs concurrent. Holzer was cited by Patrolman Kenneth Jacoby, Schuylkill Haven police.
Modify bail
Jeremy A. Snyder, 28, of 62 Heckman St., Quakake, Rush Township, had his bail modified by Judge Miller and reduced to $500 percentage cash with conditions attached: he must live at the Quakake address, shall not possess or consume alcoholic beverages, controlled substance or drug parphernalia, shall not travel outside the state without written permission from the district attorney, shall submit to random urinalysis or other drug testing at request of probation office and shall secure and maintain gainful full time employment. Snyder was cited bty Officer Melissa Johnson, West Penn Township police, last Sept. 9 with charges of aggravated and simple assault and harassment of Bonnie Steinbrun, of New Ringgold.
ARD program
President Judge William E. Baldwin removed Sean Patrick Cooke, 18, Pottsville, from the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program for violating the rules fixed by court. His case now goes on the criminal trial list on charge of simple assault.
Giovanni Garcia Cruz, 20, Shenandoah, was placed in the ARD program for12 months, pay an assessment fee of $350 to defray cost of the program, $50 to the CJEA fund, $50 monthly supervision fee and perform 10 hours of community service. Cruz was cited by Patrolman Shawn Tray, West Mahanoy Township police, and charged with underage drinking and loitering and prowling at night in the Shenandoah Heights area. The ARD program is reserved for first offenders and if they complete the sentence imposed by a judge then they can clear their criminal record.
