Carbon Commissioner Charles E. Wildoner called it the saddest day in his 16 years of serving the county and taxpayers will get better understanding of Wildoner's meaning when they open their new county tax bill and find a 7.8 mill increase, the first increase in county taxes in the last 15 years. Commissioner Dean D. W. DeLong said things will get worse before they get better because of increasing state mandates not backed by state funding.
