Breakfast with Santa held by Western Pocono Lioness Club
Elves of all kinds, including members of the Western Pocono Lioness Club (WPLC) helped at the annual Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the WPLC at Salem UCC. It was a wonderful success, reports Joyce Costillo.
She says about 150 people including scouts and the PVHS Leo club were in attendance. The scouts included members of Girl Scout Troop 211 who were working various awards through this service project, explained Brooke Peterson of Effort. She's working on her Gold Award and two of the other members are working on their Silver Award.
Mr. & Mrs. Santa spoke with all the children and gave each one a lovely ornament made by the Lioness Club. Pictures with Santa were available with Santa, aka John Dabour, while Mrs. Santa was portrayed by Joyce herself.
The pancakes and sausage were prepared by members of the Western Pocono Lions Club, as has been the tradition over the years.
This annual event is not a fund-raiser for the club, but rather a community service project explained Joyce. For the Lions it is also a service project although coloring books were available for purchase.
