Methodist Charge
The worship service in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 9 a.m. Members are reminded to bring their gifts for the Carbon County Head Start Program before Dec. 15.
The worship service in the Coaldale United Methodist Church will be held Sunday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services. The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
Presbyterian church
The schedule for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, formerly the First Presbyterian Church of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Dec. 13, is as follows:
Sunday school and adult Bible study, 9 a.m.; and worship service, 10:30 a.m.
Lansford
Chimney boxes
The Outreach Group of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will be setting up its "Chimney Boxes" display in the church's upper vestibule, where parishioners and/or guests can donate items which will be given to the residents of the Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Among the suggested items are large-print puzzle books, note pads, pens and pencils, combs and brushes, loose-fitting white socks for men, non-skid slipper socks, baseball caps, jewelry and small-hanging sun-catchers.
The donated items must be new items only.

Nesquehoning
Zion Lutheran Church
Morning worship will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The sermon title this week is "Repent, Rejoice, Regift." There is also a children's sermon presented each week. The Rev. John Hazel is pastor, (570) 645-3469. Visitors are always welcome.
Church council will meet on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.
The church will be decorated for Christmas on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m.
The next coffee hour will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20. Everyone is invited downstairs for food and fellowship following the morning worship service.
Christmas Eve services will be held at9 p.m. at Zion and at 7 and 11 p.m. at St. Paul's in Summit Hill.
The financial secretary is closing the financial books on Dec. 27. It is requested that all financial obligations be fulfilled by that date.
