Facing theft at barracks charge
A Philadelphia area woman is facing a charge of theft for an incident at the state police barracks at Lehighton, located off SR209 in Towamensing Township.
According to troopers Amanda Susan Graber, 22, of Conshohocken, was brought to the barracks on Wednesday, Dec. 9, about 9:30 p.m. by Trooper Jason Rasmus who was investigating an incident in Towamensing Township.
Graber was placed in the main lobby of the barracks waiting for family members to come and pick her up. Troopers said Graber observed Rasmus placed $2 on a counter on the secured side of the bullet proof glass in the communications room. While Graber remained in the lobby she was observed reaching her hand through the mail slot under the glass and removing the $2. She then attempted to use the money to make a purchase from a vending machine in the lobby with negative results.
She will be charged with theft by unlawful taking, troopers said.
