Food pantry
The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E.C. Church will be open on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Recipients must reside within the Jim Thorpe School District. The pantry is located at 441 Center Ave. in Jim Thorpe. Please call (570) 325-2855 for more information or to volunteer.
Cold weather has arrived! Please help keep the elderly and children in our community well fed this winter. If you are able, please donate a food item to the bin at the Jim Thorpe Market. Your donations are always greatly needed and appreciated. Perishable or monetary donations can be dropped off at the church Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Nativity display
Members of St. John's Lutheran Church, South Ave., welcome residents of the community to view the nativity display at the church on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13, from noon to 5 p.m. on both days.
The display features various kinds of the nativities displayed by members of the congregation, including water globes, pillows, stained glass items, and more.
Caroling
Members of the Ebenezer E.C. Church, Center Ave., will be Christmas caroling on Saturday, Dec. 19, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
December can be a hectic month, rushing off to holiday parties and shopping. Slow down the pace and relax by enjoying some old-fashioned fun and spreading Christmas joy to elderly, shut-ins, widows and widowers of the community and join the church members with caroling.
