H1N1 clinic set for Dec. 16 in Weatherly

Published December 12. 2009 09:00AM

The Weatherly Area School District in coordination with the Pennsylvania Department of Health will be holding its final school clinic for students and the community to receive the free H1N1 vaccine. The clinic will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, in the Weatherly Middle School.

The vaccine clinic is targeting children under 10 who can now receive the second H1N1 vaccine booster. The Department of Health is now allowing persons of any age and outside of the priority groups to receive the H1N1 vaccine. Any community member interested in receiving the free H1N1 vaccine may attend the clinic. Remaining doses are limited, though, and will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Consent forms, provided on site upon arrival, need to be completed by a parent or legal guardian on the day of the clinic. A parent or legal guardian must be present for the vaccine to be given to anyone under 18. Persons being vaccinated are asked to wear a short sleeved shirt.

Any questions regarding the clinic may be directed to Rebekah McFadden or Tracy Hernandez, Weatherly school nurses at (570) 427-8687.
