Breakfast with Santa benefits projects in local community
More than 200 people turned out for the annual Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by the Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club.
After gathering their gifts and meeting with Santa Claus, the childlren and their parents and grandparents dined on pancakes and sausage. Music was provided by "The Doctor" of Penn's Peak Radio.
Proceeds of the event will benefit several organizations, including Dream Come True, Toys for Tots, glasses for needy families, Friends of Animals cat shelter and other projects of Lions International.
Coordinating the project was Alicia Shutack-Silliman.
"The event was one of the nicest events for childlren," said Sue Anthony of Lehighton. "We had a really good time. Everything was so organized and everyone was so friendly."
Silliman said that Breakfast with Santa is one of the club's biggest fundraisers.
"Doing events for children is one of our missions," said Silliman. "We really enjoy seeing the smiles."
