December 14, 1948 Tamaqua receives a game-high 22 points from Charles "Cuppy" Baer to help gain a 50-42 victory over Freeland. Baer hits on eight field goals and goes 6-of-6 at the foul line to pace the Raiders, coached by Fred Graham. Teammate Frank Knotts contributes nine points while Bill Coombe chips in with seven. Baer will go on to finish his career with 1,347 points.
