Woman facing DUI charge

Christine A. Maniaci, 45, of Albrightsville, is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

According to state police at Lehighton, Maniaci was found in the parking lot of Country Junction, Towamensing Township, on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 10:05 a.m.

Troopers said Maniaci was found with her vehicle running, foot on the gas pedal, slumped over the wheel.

Maniaci displayed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. She was taken to the Palmerton Hospital for a blood test. Charges pending blood results.

Troopers said Maniaci is also facing retail theft charges. Found in her vehicle was merchandise from Country Junction which she allegedly did not pay for.

The items were valued at $158.
