Carbon-Mountaineers Marine Corps League Detachment 996 held its 16th annual dinner for the needy at the Aquashicola Fire Company, with 100 people attending. Entertainment was provided by Dream Kids of the Lehigh Valley and Santa Claus was there to give out goodies to the children.

The dinner was sponsored by Anne Marie Melo. The food was prepared and served by Melo's family members and members of the Marine Corps League. She has sponsored the meal the entire 16 years that it has been held.

The dinner also kicked off the toy registration portion for the Blue Ridge Toy and Food Drive.
