East Penn budget contains one-quarter mill tax increase

The one-quarter mill increase in taxes for East Penn Township makes the total 6.135 mills in the 2010 budget.

Real estate taxes bring in $396,500 and earned income tax produces $225,000.

Social hall income is $5,000 for hall rental and $9,000 for the post office rental. Food sales bring in $30,000.

The total income in the budget is $1,016,900.

Road projects are listed as an expense of $102,500 and $67,700 for snow removal. Total highway maintenance amounts to $329,800.

Recreation is budgeted to receive $46,000 and social hall expenses are $50,400.

The United Veterans Organization will receive a donation of $100 and the library is budgeted for a $2,000 donation.

Total expenses are $1,015,200.

The budget was adopted at the Dec. 7 supervisors' meeting.
