Recalls: Baby beds, activity centers, children's pajamas on weekly list

The following recalls were issued Dec. 6 - 10 by federal and state agencies:

Baby Beds: Amby Baby USA is recalling Amby Baby Motion Beds sold January 2003 - October 2009. The side-to-side shifting or tilting of the hammock can cause the infant to roll and become entrapped or wedged against the hammock's fabric and-or mattress pad, resulting in a suffocation hazard. The Amby Baby Motion Bed consists of a steel frame and a fabric hammock which are connected by a large spring and metal crossbar. There is only one model of the hammock available which can be identified by a label sewn onto the hammock stating: "Amby - Babies Love It, Naturally." Activity Centers: Evenflo Co. Inc. is recalling Evenflo ExerSaucerĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â® 1-2-3 Tea for Me Activity Learning Centers sold December 2007 - March 2009. The candle flame attached to the top of the cake toy can detach, posing a choking hazard. This recall involves Evenflo ExerSaucerĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â® 1-2-3 Tea for Me activity learning centers. Models included in the recall are 6161834 and 6161920. The model numbers are printed on the packaging and on a label located on the underside of the base of the product. Consumers should contact Evenflo, 800-233-5921, www.safety.evenflo.com, to receive a free replacement toy.

Children's Pajamas: Little Miss Matched Inc. is recalling Little Miss Matched Girls Pajama Sets sold March 2008 - July 2009.The sleepwear fails to meet the federal children's sleepwear flammability standard posing a risk of burn injury. The recall involves long sleeve toddler and girls' pajama sets. The sets were sold in sizes XXS (2t-3t), XS (3t-4t), S (5-6), M (7-8) and L (10-12).Consumers should contact Little Miss Matched, 877-649-4386, www.littlemissmatched.com, to receive a full refund.

Children's Books: Simon & Schuster Inc. is recalling Monday the Bullfrog Plush Books sold January 2006 - November 2009. The plastic eye on the frog can detach, which may pose a choking hazard. Monday the Bullfrog is a plush puppet bullfrog with a board book attached to the frog's mouth. It was sold in clear plastic packaging, and the book is marked with ISBN numbers 10: 1416912312 and 13: 9781416912316 printed inside the mouth of the bullfrog. Consumers should contact Simon & Schuster, 800-732-9531, www.simonandschuster.com, for a free replacement product.

Snap Beads: Edushape Ltd. is recalling Snap Beads sold July - September 2009. The tip of the snap bead peg may break off under repetitive pressure, posing a choking hazard. The recalled product is multicolor and textured soft plastic beads that are designed to connect to one another. The beads are packaged in a 6 in. by 6 in. by 8 in. clear plastic jar with a photo of a child playing with the beads on the label. The word "Edushape" is written on the label in green and red. Consumers should contact Edushape, 800-404-4744, www.Edushape.com, for a replacement set.

The following recalls were issued Nov. 29 - Dec. 3 by federal and state agencies:

Cribs: LaJobi Inc. is recalling "Molly" and "Betsy" Cribs sold May 2000 - September 2001. The cribs have cut-outs in the end panels that can allow young children to get their heads entrapped, which can pose a strangulation hazard. The end panels on the "Molly" style cribs are made of solid wood with openings on both sides. The end panels on the "Betsy" style cribs are constructed with wood slats. Consumers should contact LaJobi, 800-266-2848, www.Lajobi.com, to receive replacement end panels, which eliminates the hazard.

Hooded Sweatshirts: Sunsations Inc. is recalling Children's Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings sold at Sunsations stores in Virginia Beach, Va.; Ocean City, Md.; and North Carolina April 2006 - July 2009. The sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard. The recall involves children's hooded sweatshirt sizes 2T through 12 sold in various solid colors. Style numbers included in this recall are: KD102, KD124 and KFS102. Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts or return the garment to Sunsations for a full refund. "Hello Kitty" Sweatshirts: NTD Apparel is recalling "Hello Kitty" Zip Up Hoodie Sweatshirts sold at Macy's and Dillard's stores November - December 2008. The sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard. The "Hello Kitty" hoodie has an appliqué on the right chest and screen print on left chest and left sleeve. They were sold in black with silver lining and in sizes 2T, 3T, 4, 5, 6 and 6X. NTD APPAREL, D1592H7273, RN No. 116180 is printed on the neck label and care label. Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts, or return the garment to either the place of purchase or to NTD Apparel for a full refund. Blenders: Haier America Trading L.L.C. is recalling blenders sold November 2006 - October 2009. The blade assemblies of the blenders may come apart or break, posing a laceration risk. This recall involves commercial-style 500-watt blenders with model number HB500BSS. "Haier" is printed on the front below the power switch, and the model number is printed on a label on the bottom of the blenders. Consumers should contact Haier America, 866-327-6147, www.haieramerica.com, to receive a free replacement blade assembly.

ATVs: BRP U.S. Inc. is recalling Model Year 2010 Can-AmĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â® ATVs sold August - November 2009. The dynamic power steering can fail, resulting in the sudden loss of steering control. This poses a risk of injury or death to riders. The recall involves Model Year 2010 Can-AmĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â® Outlander and Renegade ATVs. Consumers should contact any Can-AmĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â® dealer to schedule a free repair. Consumers can also contact BRP, 888-638-5397.
