Slatington driver in Lehigh crash

A Slatington driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the accident occurred about 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, along SR309, in Lynn Township.

Troopers said Mary E. Chandler, 68, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Venture northbound near the top of the Blue Mountain when she lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and into a ditch where it came to rest. Chandler was not injured.

She was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.

Troopers also investigated another crash on Sunday, about 12:01 p.m., at 7837 Holbens Valley Road, in Weisenberg Township. Troopers said Alicia Christina Ehret, 29, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2004 Nissan Xterra eastbound when she lost control and struck a ditch along the berm. The vehicle came to rest on its passenger side, troopers said.

Ehret was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Northwestern ambulance, troopers added.
