Mailbox damaged in Monroe County

State police at Lehighton are investigating an act of criminal mischief to a rural mailbox.

Troopers said a mailbox belonging to Thomas J. Somerville, 34, of 133G Getz Dawl Rd., Polk Township, Monroe County, was damaged by someone who used a blunt object. The incident occurred sometime between midnight on Saturday, Dec. 12, and noon Sunday.
