Man charged with theft at ski resort

A Northampton County man was charged with retail theft for an incident at a Carbon County ski resort.

State police at Lehighton charged William Edwin Metz, 21, of Walnutport, after he allegedly stole a ski/boarding pants and Oakley goggles, valued at $170, from the ski shop and Flow focus boots, valued at $330, from the rental shop at the Blue Mountain Ski area in Lower Towamensing Township.

The incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 12, between 3 and 4 p.m., troopers said.
