Monroe crashes
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported investigating two crashes this week, both caused by icy conditions.
A crash was reported at 2:21 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, along Kuhenbeaker Rd., in Tunkhannock Township. Police said a vehicle operated by Joseph Cavaliere, of Long Pond, left the road and struck a split rail fence on the property of Garry Cooper. Cavaliere told officers his vehicle slid after hitting a patch of ice on the road. He was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.
The second crash occurred about 10:49 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, along Knollwood Drive, in A Pocono Place development, in Coolbaugh Township. Police said Kenneth Newman, of Tobyhanna, was traveling out of the development when his vehicle began to slid on snow and icy on the road. He lost control and his vehicle struck another vehicle operated by Myron Comstock, also of Tobyhanna. Damages were minor to the vehicles and no one was reported injured.
