Published December 18. 2009 05:00PM

A Stroudsburg man was sentenced to over four years in federal prison for attempting to rob a Monroe County bank.

Luke Radick, 22, was sentenced to 50 months in prison by U.S. District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo for entering the Sciota branch of the First Liberty Bank of Palmerton with the intent to commit a robbery.

Radick previously pleaded guilty to the offense. The attempted bank robbery occurred on January 8, 2009.

Radick was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2009, as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Judge Caputo also ordered that Radick be placed on supervised release for four years after serving his prison sentence, and pay a special assessment of $100.

Assistant United States Attorney Francis P. Sempa prosecuted the case.
