Man sentenced for receiving stolen property in Tamaqua
Mark Allen Hammaker, 29, whose current address is Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property removed from two homes in Tamaqua, one on Center Street and the second on Willing Street.
In those incidents, a woman's golden brooch and valuable coins were stolen and later sold to the Buy and Sell Store in the borough.
Hammaker was sentenced by Judge D. Michael Stine to serve 12 months on probation, pay $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account fund and make restitution of $255 to Daniel Jones.
He was cited by Sgt. Richard Weaver, Tamaqua Police. Judge Stine ordered the sentence to run concurrent to a sentence imposed by Judge Baldwin last August for drug charges to serve 24 to 48 months in a state prison.
In other court news, Anthony Tyrone Crews, 37, Shenandoah, was found guilty by a jury of charges of criminal mischief to property of Mark Getz, 419 W. Cherry Street, Shenandoah.
President Judge William D. Baldwin deferred sentence to a later date and ordered a pre-sentence investigative report on Crews prepared by the adult probation department.
No date has been set for sentencing.
